The state-of-the-art CyberKnife machine was unveiled today at the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, by the Institute's Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sharad Singh, Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Dr. Rumita Singh, and the Institute's Finance Officer, Mr. Rajnikant Verma. In his address, Prof. Bhatt stated that the CyberKnife technology will provide cancer patients with extremely precise, safe, and advanced treatment facilities. This machine will prove highly effective in treating complex tumors without surgery, in a short time, and with minimal side effects. He said that the installation of this machine will enable cancer patients not only from Uttar Pradesh but also from neighboring states to receive world-class treatment at the institute itself, eliminating the need for them to travel elsewhere. The Institute's Medical Superintendent, Dr. Varun Vijay, informed that the machine will require testing and approval from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) before it can be used for patients, which may take 2-3 months.

CyberKnife Facility Inaugurated at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow

Today, the Public Health Department of Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow organized a Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Program at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Turiaganj, Lucknow. The program witnessed active participation from the Medical Officer In-Charge of CHC Turiaganj, Dr. Geetanjali Singh, Junior Resident Dr. Diksha Pathak, Nursing Officer Kashish Kashyap, Field Officer Sushil Yadav, along with other healthcare personnel. During the program, participants were provided detailed information about the major risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of early detection of breast cancer. It was explained that the presence of a lump in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, blood or any abnormal discharge from the nipple, dimpling of the breast skin, redness, or shrinkage could be potential signs of breast cancer. It was also emphasized that even a painless lump can be dangerous, and therefore any abnormal change should not be ignored. Addressing the gathering, Junior Resident Dr. Diksha Pathak stated that early detection and accurate information can make breast cancer treatment highly successful. She also highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise, and periodic screening. On this occasion, Nursing Officer Kashish Kashyap and Field Officer Sushil Yadav also educated people about the screening process and encouraged women to undergo regular breast cancer screening. The primary objective of the program was to increase awareness about breast cancer among women and the community, dispel myths, and motivate people towards timely screening and treatment.

On the occasion of National Voters’ Day on 25/01/2026, an oath-taking ceremony was organized at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Institute’s Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt. On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Varun Vijay administered the oath on voter awareness and democratic values to the doctors, residents, nursing staff, and employees present. The Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Vijendra Kumar, was also present during the program. Officers and staff members from all departments of the Institute participated enthusiastically and pledged their active involvement in the democratic process. The event proved to be an important initiative towards promoting voter awareness and encouraging the spirit of responsible citizenship.

A Breast Cancer Awareness Programme was organized today by the Public Health Department of Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute, Lucknow at the Community Health Centre, Aishbagh, Lucknow. The programme witnessed active participation from Dr. Somnath Singh, Medical Superintendent, CHC, Aishbagh, along with Dr. Ranjana Rani, Dr. Ismita Dwivedi, other health staff, and members of the general public. During the programme, detailed information was provided on the major risk factors and symptoms of breast cancer. The participants were informed that the presence of a lump in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, bleeding or any abnormal discharge from the nipple, dimpling of the breast skin, redness, or skin retraction could be possible warning signs of breast cancer. It was also emphasized that a painless lump can be equally dangerous, and any abnormal change should not be ignored. While addressing the gathering, Dr. Diksha Pathak from the Public Health Department, Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow stated that early detection and timely diagnosis play a crucial role in the successful treatment of breast cancer. She also highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular physical activity, and periodic screening in reducing the risk of cancer. On this occasion, Ms. Shweta Upadhyay from the Nursing Department of the Cancer Institute, along with other healthcare workers, actively participated and supported the awareness activities. The main objective of the programme was to increase awareness about breast cancer among women and the community, dispel fear and misconceptions, and motivate people for timely screening and treatment.

Breast Cancer Awareness Programme Organized at CHC Aishbagh, Lucknow

Keeping the winter season in mind, Rotary Club, Lucknow distributed blankets to the attendants of patients undergoing treatment in the Emergency and Day-Care Units of Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The objective of this service initiative was to provide relief to the family members of patients staying in the hospital during the cold weather. A large number of needy attendants were provided with blankets during the programme. On this occasion, the Director of the Institute Prof. Dr. M.L.B. Bhatt, PDG Artiyan and IRF In-charge Mr. K.K. Srivastava, Dr. Vijendra, Dr. Ayush Lohia, and Dr. S. Priya were present. All the dignitaries appreciated the humane and socially beneficial initiative undertaken by Rotary Club, Lucknow. Lucknow, January 21, 2026: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute (KSSSCI), Lucknow, for the empanelment of diagnostic service providers for PET scans, radiological interventional procedures, and therapeutic diagnostic services. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Chief Medical Superintendent of KSSSCI, Dr. Vijendra Kumar, and the Medical Superintendent of KSSSCI, Dr. Varun Vijay. Under this empanelment, the following five diagnostic centers have been affiliated with the institute: 1. Charakdhar Diagnostics and Charak Hospital & Research Center 2. Shanya Global Scanning and Research 3. Globe Medicare Diagnostics 4. Sarkar Medical Diagnostic Center 5. Shri Ram Murti Smarak Functional Imaging and Medical Center Under this arrangement, all relevant diagnostic facilities will now be available under both cash and cashless schemes at the rates prescribed by the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. These facilities will be available to all patients of Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute. This initiative is a significant step towards further strengthening affordable, accessible, and quality cancer treatment services at the institute.

KSSSCI Signs MoU with Five Diagnostic Centers to Expand PET Scan and Diagnostic Services

A free cancer screening and public awareness campaign for Oral Cancer, Cervical Cancer, and Breast Cancer was organized at Gopeshwar Gaushala, Malihabad, by doctors from Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The public welfare program was jointly organized by Gopeshwar Gaushala, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, and Suryadev Laxmi Memorial Charitable Trust. The objective of the campaign was to raise awareness among rural communities and the general public about early detection of cancer, its symptoms, prevention, and the importance of timely treatment. During the program, a large number of people underwent screening. Participants were also educated about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, the importance of timely screening for cervical and breast cancer among women, methods of self-examination, and the benefits of regular health check-ups. The event was attended by the Director of the Institute, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, along with Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Dr. Rumita Singh, Dr. Saumya Gupta, Dr. Anshi, Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Dr. Mansi, Dr. Diksha, Seema and other nursing staff of the institute. The doctors collectively emphasized that early detection of cancer significantly improves the effectiveness and success of treatment.
