The “Felicitation and Integrated Paramedical Training Programme” was successfully organized today, at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The programme was graced by the Director of the Institute, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, as the Chief Guest, Prof. Vinod Jain, Former Dean Paramedical, KGMU, attended as the Guest of Honour. Under this Integrated Paramedical Training Programme, 60 Nursing Officers were trained on various important topics, including interpretation of vital signs, crash cart preparation and documentation, preparation of procedure trolleys in the ICU, care of catheters and tubes, prevention of hospital-acquired infections, handover of critically ill patients, basics of mechanical ventilation, fundamentals of blood transfusion, and safe transport of critically ill patients. On this occasion, the Nursing Officers who successfully completed the training were awarded certificates of appreciation. The objective of the programme was to further strengthen the professional skills, knowledge, and efficiency of the nursing staff. The event was also graced by the presence of senior officials of the institute, including Prof. Vijendra Kumar (CMS), Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta (Dean), Dr. Varun Vijay (MS), and Dr. Ayush Lohia (Registrar), along with other faculty members and residents. The programme was successfully conducted with the valuable contributions of Dr. Madhulika Dubey, Dr. S. Priya, Dr. Ruchi Saxena, Dr. Indubala Maurya, Dr. Anju Dubey, Dr. Abhishek Pandey and Senior Nursing Officers Gajendra and Kartar Singh.

Today, 28.04.2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchange by Prof. Madan Lal Brahma Bhatt, Director, Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow and Ms. Ajisha Bhasi, Founder & CEO, ZenturioTech Private Limited, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, marking a significant step towards strengthening collaboration in the fields of Digital Health, Clinical Research, Mental Health Awareness, and Knowledge Exchange & Training Initiatives. This strategic collaboration aims to leverage the expertise of both institutions to promote innovation in healthcare delivery, to provide expertise in AI, Virtual Reality (VR), Web & Application development for use in healthcare settings, which will enhance research capabilities, and create impactful awareness programs focusing on mental health. The partnership will also facilitate the exchange of knowledge, capacity building, and specialized training programs for healthcare professionals. Today, on 24.04.2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchange by Prof. Madan Lal Brahma Bhatt, Director, Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow and Dr. Bhaskar Narayan, Director, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, marking a significant step towards strengthening collaborative research in the field of toxicology and its impact on human health and the environment. This collaboration aims to establish a leadership position in toxicology research by addressing critical challenges related to industrial, agricultural, and environmental exposures. Both institutions will work together to advance scientific knowledge, develop innovative solutions, and promote sustainable health practices and also work to devise simple/rapid diagnostic test and its application in human beings for various disorders caused by industrial environmental chemicals. The MoU signifies a shared commitment of both institutions to contribute towards public health, environmental safety, and scientific advancement through collaborative research and knowledge exchange. This initiative is expected to pave the way for impactful research outcomes, policy inputs, and enhanced awareness in the field of toxicology, ultimately benefiting society at large. The Department of Public Health at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, organized a breast cancer screening and awareness program on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Community Health Center, Tudiaganj. The program witnessed active participation from CHC Superintendent Dr. Geetanjali Singh, Associate Professor Dr. Anshu Singh from the Department of Public Health, Nursing Officers Shweta and Kashish Kashyap, along with other healthcare staff. During the program, women and members of the public were educated about the major risk factors, early signs, and the importance of timely screening for breast cancer. It was explained that symptoms such as a lump in the breast or underarm, changes in the size or shape of the breast, abnormal nipple discharge or bleeding, skin dimpling or redness, and nipple retraction could be potential warning signs of breast cancer. It was also emphasized that even a painless lump should not be ignored. On this occasion, Dr. Anshu Singh highlighted that early detection and accurate awareness can significantly improve treatment outcomes in breast cancer. Nursing Officers Kashish Kashyap and Shweta conducted screening of participants and encouraged women to come forward for regular breast cancer check-ups. The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness about breast cancer among women and the community, dispel myths, and promote timely screening and appropriate treatment.

Today, on April 15, 2026, a state-of-the-art X-ray irradiator—equipped with sophisticated technology—was inaugurated in the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion at the Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute. The inauguration was performed by the Institute's Director, Professor M.L.B. Bhatt. In his address on this occasion, Professor M.L.B. Bhatt stated that the use of this advanced equipment would ensure the highest level of safety in the blood transfusions administered to cancer patients. He also lauded the efforts of Dr. Anju Dubey, Head of the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion, for securing this achievement, which places the Institute among a select few medical institutions in the state to possess such a facility. Dr. Anju Dubey explained that the X-ray irradiator proves instrumental in nullifying even the slightest residual risk of infectious diseases that may persist in a blood unit sample, even after thorough preliminary screening. KSSSCI is a medical institution dedicated exclusively to the treatment of cancer patients. The X-ray irradiator will serve as an additional layer of protection against adverse side effects—such as Transfusion-Associated Graft-versus-Host Disease (TA-GVHD), which can prove fatal for these patients—that may arise as a consequence of repeated blood transfusions. The occasion was graced by the distinguished presence of the Institute's Chief Medical Superintendent, Professor Vijendra Kumar; Medical Superintendent, Dr. Varun Vijay; Dean of Faculty Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Finance officer Mr. Rajnikant Verma and Executive Registrar, Dr. Ayush Lohia.

Inauguration of Advanced X-Ray Irradiator at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute

On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, a Free Health Service Camp was organized today in Village Magahuwan Kala by Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, in collaboration with National Medicos Organization, Awadh Prant, Sewa Bharti, and Yuvarashtra. During the camp, various healthcare services were provided to patients from rural areas, including cancer screening, blood pressure (BP) and blood sugar tests, dental check-ups, and breast examination. Free medicines were also distributed to the needy patients. In addition, patients who had previously undergone cancer treatment attended for follow-up check-ups and were provided with necessary medical advice. The camp was organized in the gracious presence of the Institute’s Director Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, Dr. Ayush Lohiya, Head of Department of Public Health, Village Head (Pradhan) Mrs. Shobha Devi, and Pradhan Representative Mr. Ram Dev Pradhan. The camp was attended by Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Dr. Bhawna, Dr. Umar, Scientist ‘C’ Rohit Singh, Nursing Officer Priya Sachan, and MSW Bhanu Pratap Singh, along with other healthcare staff. Through this initiative, efforts were made not only to provide quality healthcare services to the rural population but also to raise awareness about health, ensuring early detection and timely treatment of diseases.

A Free Health Service Camp Organized on the Occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti.

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Powergrid Gomti Yamuna Transmission Limited handed over various medical equipment to Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, on April 09, 2026. The objective of this initiative is to enhance the quality and availability of modern healthcare services for patients at the institute. On this occasion, Mr. Yugesh Kumar Dixit, Executive Director, Powergrid, NR-III, Lucknow, formally handed over the equipment to Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, Director of the institute. The event was also attended by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Vijendra, Registrar Dr. Ayush Lohia, Medical Superintendent Dr. Varun Vijay, and Dean Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta. The equipment handed over includes 50 beds, 10 transport monitors, 20 multipara monitors, 10 recovery trolleys, 10 examination couches, 8 ECG machines, 10 crash carts, and 2 video laryngoscopes. The total cost of these medical assets is approximately INR 1 crore. Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, Director of the institute, expressed his gratitude to Powergrid Gomti Yamuna Transmission Limited and stated that this support will significantly strengthen the institute’s healthcare services and enable the delivery of high-quality treatment to patients. This initiative marks an important step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure and will directly benefit cancer patients in the region.

Powergrid CSR Initiative Boosts Healthcare Infrastructure at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow

Today, under a commendable social initiative, 20 wheelchairs were distributed at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow. These wheelchairs were generously provided by India Pesticides Limited, courtesy of Shri K.K. Srivastava of Rotary Club. On this occasion, the Chief Guest of the program was the Director of the institute, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt. The Medical Superintendent of the institute, Dr. Varun Vijay, was also present. From India Pesticides Limited, Shri S.P. Gupta and Shri Narendra Ojha also participated in the event. During the program, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt described this initiative as a significant contribution towards enhancing patient care and services, and expressed hope for continued support in the future. The institute administration extended its gratitude to the donors and termed this effort as an inspiring step towards public service.

Wheelchair Distribution Drive Enhances Patient Care at Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute, Lucknow

On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute has adopted Magahuwa Kala village, located in the rural area of Gosainganj. The initiative aims to provide comprehensive and accessible healthcare services to all residents of the village. On this occasion, the institute’s Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt; Executive Registrar, Dr. Ayush Lohia; Medical Superintendent, Dr. Varun Vijay; Associate Professor of the Public Health Department, Dr. Anshu Singh; Senior Resident Dr. Suryakant, Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Dr. Avishkar; Nursing Officers Pooja Pal and Atul Pandey; and Scientist ‘C’ Rohit Kumar Singh, along with other staff members, were present. Director Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt stated that a line listing of all village residents will be conducted and Family Health Booklets will be issued to maintain systematic health records of each household. In addition, comprehensive cancer screening, early diagnosis of common cancers, and overall health assessments will be carried out for all age groups, including children, women, and the elderly. A team of doctors from the institute will visit the village every week to provide healthcare services. In the future, the village will be developed as the institute’s Rural Field Practice Area, where field-based clinical care, teaching, and research activities will also be conducted. This initiative marks an important step toward strengthening healthcare services in rural areas.
