National Nutrition Week 2026 Celebrated at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow

On the occasion of "National Nutrition Week 2026", a programme was organised today at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, under the guidance of Dr. Geetika Pant, Additional Professor and Head, Department of Paediatric Oncology. The programme aimed to raise awareness about the importance of balanced and appropriate nutrition in the treatment and care of cancer patients.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Geetika Pant, Head, Department of Paediatric Oncology. This was followed by a theme talk on “Importance of Nutrition in Cancer Care”, delivered by Dietitian Sugandha.
On the occasion, the Chief Guest, Director Prof.M.L.B.Bhatt, said that along with medicines and medical procedures, appropriate nutrition plays a vital role in cancer treatment. He stated that the Institute is committed to providing comprehensive care to cancer patients, while also giving special attention to creating awareness about nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Poonam Tiwari, Head, Department of Dietetics, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, also shared her views on the importance of nutrition in cancer care.
This was followed by a quiz competition conducted by Dietitian Sakshi, which saw enthusiastic participation from the attendees.
Dean Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Vijendra Kumar, Medical Superintendent Dr. Varun Vijay, Executive Registrar Dr. Ayush Lohia, along with doctors, residents, nursing staff and other employees of the Institute, were present on the occasion.
