CyberKnife Facility Inaugurated at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow

The state-of-the-art CyberKnife machine was unveiled today at the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, by the Institute's Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sharad Singh, Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology, Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Dr. Rumita Singh, and the Institute's Finance Officer, Mr. Rajnikant Verma. In his address, Prof. Bhatt stated that the CyberKnife technology will provide cancer patients with extremely precise, safe, and advanced treatment facilities. This machine will prove highly effective in treating complex tumors without surgery, in a short time, and with minimal side effects.
He said that the installation of this machine will enable cancer patients not only from Uttar Pradesh but also from neighboring states to receive world-class treatment at the institute itself, eliminating the need for them to travel elsewhere.
The Institute's Medical Superintendent, Dr. Varun Vijay, informed that the machine will require testing and approval from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) before it can be used for patients, which may take 2-3 months.
