Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Program Organized at CHC Turiaganj, Lucknow

Today, the Public Health Department of Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow organized a Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Program at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Turiaganj, Lucknow. The program witnessed active participation from the Medical Officer In-Charge of CHC Turiaganj, Dr. Geetanjali Singh, Junior Resident Dr. Diksha Pathak, Nursing Officer Kashish Kashyap, Field Officer Sushil Yadav, along with other healthcare personnel.
During the program, participants were provided detailed information about the major risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of early detection of breast cancer. It was explained that the presence of a lump in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, blood or any abnormal discharge from the nipple, dimpling of the breast skin, redness, or shrinkage could be potential signs of breast cancer. It was also emphasized that even a painless lump can be dangerous, and therefore any abnormal change should not be ignored.
Addressing the gathering, Junior Resident Dr. Diksha Pathak stated that early detection and accurate information can make breast cancer treatment highly successful. She also highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise, and periodic screening.
On this occasion, Nursing Officer Kashish Kashyap and Field Officer Sushil Yadav also educated people about the screening process and encouraged women to undergo regular breast cancer screening.
The primary objective of the program was to increase awareness about breast cancer among women and the community, dispel myths, and motivate people towards timely screening and treatment.
