Breast Cancer Awareness Programme Organized at CHC Aishbagh, Lucknow

A Breast Cancer Awareness Programme was organized today by the Public Health Department of Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute, Lucknow at the Community Health Centre, Aishbagh, Lucknow.
The programme witnessed active participation from Dr. Somnath Singh, Medical Superintendent, CHC, Aishbagh, along with Dr. Ranjana Rani, Dr. Ismita Dwivedi, other health staff, and members of the general public.
During the programme, detailed information was provided on the major risk factors and symptoms of breast cancer. The participants were informed that the presence of a lump in the breast or armpit, changes in the size or shape of the breast, bleeding or any abnormal discharge from the nipple, dimpling of the breast skin, redness, or skin retraction could be possible warning signs of breast cancer. It was also emphasized that a painless lump can be equally dangerous, and any abnormal change should not be ignored.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Diksha Pathak from the Public Health Department, Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow stated that early detection and timely diagnosis play a crucial role in the successful treatment of breast cancer. She also highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular physical activity, and periodic screening in reducing the risk of cancer.
On this occasion, Ms. Shweta Upadhyay from the Nursing Department of the Cancer Institute, along with other healthcare workers, actively participated and supported the awareness activities.
The main objective of the programme was to increase awareness about breast cancer among women and the community, dispel fear and misconceptions, and motivate people for timely screening and treatment.
