Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Organized on World Students’ Day at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute

A voluntary blood donation camp was organized today at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, celebrated as “World Students’ Day.” The event was jointly organized under the aegis of the National Medicos Organization (NMO) Awadh Prant, YuvaRashtra, and Youth of Medicos. The Director of the Institute, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, highlighted the importance of blood donation, stating, “Blood donation is a noble act of humanity that helps save countless lives. Regular blood donation stimulates the formation of new blood cells, improves circulation, and contributes to maintaining a healthy heart and liver.” The camp was organized with the support of Dr. Anju Dubey, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine. A large number of doctors and paramedical staff voluntarily donated blood, spreading a message of compassion and social responsibility. A total of 20 individuals, including Dr. Vijendra (Chief Medical Superintendent), Dr. Varun Vijay (Medical Superintendent), and other staff members, donated blood. Mrs. Savitri, a social worker, also participated and shared her experience, mentioning that blood donation helps regulate iron and cholesterol levels and significantly reduces the risk of heart attacks and cancer. On this occasion, Dr. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Dr. Vijendra, Dr. Varun Vijay, Dr. Ayush Lohia, Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Dr. Abhishek Singh, Dr. Ajay, Dr. Kunwar Trayambak, and Dr. Lakshmikant were present and contributed to the blood donation drive. The event witnessed active participation from members of NMO Awadh Prant, YuvaRashtra, and Youth of Medicos.
