KSSSCI Observes World Hepatitis Day 2025 with Awareness Program, Screening, and Educational Activities

On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute successfully organized an awareness program to highlight the importance of hepatitis prevention, timely diagnosis, and effective treatment. The event took place under the guidance of the Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, Director of the Institute and was spearheaded by Dr. S. Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of General Medicine. The program was graced by the presence of the Director, KSSSCI, , Chief Medical Superintendent, Medical Superintendent, Dean, and all faculty members, whose participation reflected the institutional commitment to public health awareness and community engagement. The program aimed to educate and engage the community—patients, caregivers, faculty, and hospital staff—about hepatitis, a global health concern that affects millions every year. A series of activities were held throughout the day to promote awareness, including Educational Sessions on hepatitis prevention, symptoms, and treatment options; a Poster Competition to creatively represent facts and strategies for hepatitis control, a Quiz Competition to test and enhance knowledge among attendees and Free screening for Hepatitis B and C, during which 120 patients and their caregivers were tested. Participants included patients, their caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff, all of whom actively contributed to making the event meaningful and impactful. The event reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to community health education and the fight against preventable diseases like hepatitis. World Hepatitis Day is observed globally on July 28 every year and serves as a reminder of the importance of collective action to eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat.
