A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute Lucknow, and Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara, Bihar, with the objective of promoting excellence in cancer treatment, research and academic activities.
As a significant step towards advancing cancer care, collaborative research, and academic excellence in oncology and related specialities, an MoU was signed today, between Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, and Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara, Bihar.
The MoU was signed under the chairmanship of Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt, Dr. Ayush Lohia, Executive Registrar, signed the MoU on behalf of Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow, while Mr. Navneet Singh, Assistant Registrar and MoU In-charge, signed on behalf of Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara, Bihar.
On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Amarika Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, MLSU University, Udaipur, and Prof. (Dr.) Durgesh Mani Tripathi, Advisor, Dev Sanskriti University, Haridwar, were also present.
The MoU will play an important role in expanding oncology services, promoting innovation in cancer prevention, early detection and treatment, and strengthening joint research activities. The collaboration will also facilitate student training and training programmes, along with clinical research activities related to cancer patients.
The partnership aims to strengthen clinical, technical and community-based capacities in the fields of oncology and allied health sciences through the exchange of faculty members, scientists and researchers. It will further promote collaborative research and facilitate the development of innovative therapeutic and diagnostic approaches.

Key Objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU):-

1). To promote joint research projects focusing on advanced research in oncology and tertiary-level medical services for cancer patients.
2). To develop and implement innovative technologies for the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
3). To facilitate the exchange of scientific expertise and faculty members for collaborative teaching, training and innovation.
4). To develop and utilise advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of various types of cancer in the Indian population.
5). To organise student training and orientation programmes in the fields of molecular diagnostics and cancer research, and to promote research aimed at identifying the underlying causes of cancer through Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.
From the Institute, Prof. Pramod Kumar Gupta, Dean; Prof. Vijendra Kumar, Chief Medical Superintendent; and Dr. Varun Vijay, Medical Superintendent, along with other senior officials of the Institute, were present on the occasion.
This collaboration brings together the expertise of both institutions in the fields of cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and training, and is expected to pave the way for new opportunities in advanced cancer care, collaborative research and academic development in the future.
