Uterine Cancer Awareness Programme Organized at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute.

With the objective of enhancing public awareness about uterine cancer and promoting its early detection and timely treatment, a Uterine Cancer Awareness Programme was organized today at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute, Lucknow. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Priyanka Singh, Additional Professor, Department of Gynecological Oncology.
During the programme, Dr. Priyanka Singh delivered a talk on "What is Uterine Cancer and How it is Managed," highlighting the causes, symptoms, early diagnosis, and modern treatment options for uterine cancer.
Dr. S. Priya, Associate Professor, Department of General Medicine, spoke on "Prevention of Uterine Cancer by Lifestyle Modification," emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and weight management in reducing the risk of cancer.
Dr. Rumita Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, delivered a presentation on "Role of Radiation Therapy & Chemotherapy in Uterine Cancer," explaining the role of advanced radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the effective management of the disease.
As part of the awareness programme, a Poster Making Competition was also organized for the nursing staff to promote creative expression and reinforce awareness regarding uterine cancer. Ms. Sapna Kumari secured the First Position, while Ms. Raj Nandani Rai was awarded the Second Position for their outstanding posters highlighting the importance of awareness, early detection, and prevention.
The programme concluded with an interactive panel discussion and question-and-answer session featuring Prof. Sharad Singh, Dr. Priyanka Singh, Dr. S. Priya, and Dr. Rumita Singh. Patients and attendants actively participated by raising questions related to the symptoms, risk factors, prevention, screening, and treatment of uterine cancer, which were addressed by the experts in a simple and scientific manner.
The experts encouraged women to undergo regular health check-ups, avoid ignoring any abnormal symptoms, and adopt a healthy lifestyle. They emphasized the message that "Timely awareness, timely diagnosis, and timely treatment are the keys to better outcomes in uterine cancer."
